Two of the main goals of public health are to promote wellness and prevent disease. In an effort to promote wellness in EHHD communities, the health district has made available various programs, initiatives, and resources that seek to improve access to health in as many of the dimensions of wellness as possible. Our health promotion programs are offered through community partnerships, grant support and organizational contracts. Some of these programs include, but aren't limited to:

  • Employee wellness resources for business's in our district. Visit the Be Well  page for more details on what's available for your business or organization.

  • Go take a hike! Joshua's Trust forest and properties is NE Connecticut's largest land trust, with more than 4,000 acres in 14 towns there is something for everyone and plenty to explore.

If your school, community, or organization needs resources or your initiative could use the support of the EHHD, please contact the Community Health and Wellness Coordinator at 860-429-3325. Programs, events and presentations may be able to be customized for your need.
